Hello all!
I'm currently in Rush University's ABSN program, which is so much tougher than I expected... I'll be lucky to end up with a 3.3 or higher. I think I want to become and NP, and I was wondering if anyone had an idea on the type of GPA most grad schools require? Do you think they take into account if you did an ABSN?
Thanks so much ya'all!

It really depends on where you apply. Almost every place I know of requires at least a 3.0 Some of the more competitive school may require at least a 3.5

Is GPA based on nursing or overall? I have a good GPA, but it suffers from a C in an elective class from my first semester in college. Will they overlook the C most likely?

i know that one of the best grad schools in upstate ny (university at buffalo) looks at your cumulative gpa for their programs. doesn't matter if you have grades from years ago in a different field, they will factor them in. university at buffalo is very competitive, especially since they have the crna program. so, there may be schools out there that do not use this type of admission process and that aren't as competitive.
good luck!!
