Thank you. Now I have family in Tennessee. Would I have a better chance there or is it just as competitive?

Also, here is a response from one of the nurse counselors at a school I'm interested and asked about a retake policy via email "xxxxxxxxxxx does not have a recency policy for the science prerequisites, however, if the science courses are more than five years old and the student wanted to repeat the courses we would forgive the previous grades, but they would still be included in the cumulative GPA. Otherwise, the repeat policy for the science courses is no more than one of the three required courses."

*Luckily my science courses have expired but like you guys said that is ONE school out of how many I may need to research for retake policy.

You'd probably have a better chance out there, and definitely have a better chance at finding work as a new grad, especially with your ADN. The market for new grads in CA is horrendous, and ADNs are having an increasingly hard time finding hospital work, even with experience. I know one of my classmates interviewed in TN, and I believe she was offered the job.

So I just received a copy of my transcripts and because I did good in both classes this summer, my GPA went from a 2.2 to a 2.4. I'm happy its slowly going up and that is without taking any of my previous classes I received (D's) in. I will be tackling those Fall semester. There is hope for those out there with a low gpa. Their is a waitlist for the science courses. I plan on emailing the professor expressing my interest and providing a copy of guidance counselor letter of recommendation. I'm still pushing for ADN program in California, but my mom told me she may be moving to TN next spring so cali vs Tn.
