It wasn't offensive, just trying to get you to see what people will think of you. A name says a lot about about a person, now go enjoy being a teenager. It's a dog eat dog world out here and everyone is wearing milkbone underwear.

Anything you do to give yourself an edge is good. Ths is the type of proactive thinking that will set you apart from the others and make you a good corpsmen.

hey so wut should i expect from the corpsman traning?

Your going to learn basic first aid skill initially. Then you will move on to more advanced skills such as suturing and wound packing. They will give a general course in Anatomy and Physiology so you know whats what in the human body. To tell the truth I'm not sure if they have chnaged the curriculum based on the current wartime situation. You may try contacting a recruiter or the corps school diretly to see if you can get a copy of the course curriculum. Approach it fromthe angle that you want to start studying now in order to be better prepared once it comes time for school.

Those are a good start. You can get lots of info right there.

Navy Corpsman are great. I was an Air Force Corpsman (medic) many moons ago, and my son is currently in the Navy. He almost chose corpsman, but decided against it in the last minute. Do expect to go to Iraq or Afghanistan almost immediately after corpsman school, however.

There are plenty of previous Navy Corpsmen here at Allnurses, too, so you should be able to get some advice and assisitance.

Wish you the very best. :)

are teh ASVAB test different for each branch of the millitary?

Hon, you are asking a lot of questions that most of us don't know anything about that could be cleared up with one phone call to a recuiter. Good luck.

The ASVAB is 1 test that all branches look at; but each branch has different score requirements.

You should definitely check with a recruiter.
