got my NET test results back...and i'm not feeling too good. I got 92% for math (proud of that, but doesnt count :o ), 60% for reading comprehension, and reading rate of 341 words per minute. my reading comprehension level says that i ranked in the 55 percentile at an instructional reading level. i feel so dumb. do the NET scores have any effect on whether you get into TWU or is it just that if you pass you're ok? if you know, please let me know! thanks

From what I was told:

1. You must pass it (obvious there sorry)

2. It is used as a determiner if it is between you and someone else

3. The school will use it to help determine how you best understand things. So that they can aid you if you have a problem.

The reading part was boring IMO. I remember there was something about bears and crocidiles hibernating, it didn't interest me so I had to force myself to read it! LOL Give me my A&P book and I would read and read as I found that interesting, but a bear's sleep pattern and I was like :uhoh3:

I believe each school has different minimum passing scores, and in most cases it's simply pass/fail based on that score... You should get in contact with one of the admissions counselors just to check...

We just went over his topic with our instructor tonight. She told us that the school we go to just raised the standard on the NET test. We thought it was a govt standard test but she said no, that each school has their own standard test score that you must get. You need to find out what the passing score for your school is, if you passed CONGRATS!!!

Can you retake it to improve your score?

Our school just raised what it considers passing for the NLN test. I don't know about the NET but I found the NLN to be no joke, especially the verbal part.

Good luck to you

Hey. Thanks for the replies. Passing is considered a score of 55% or higher.

Congrats then - sounds like you passed! You could just check with the school and see if it would be worth your while to re-take it or if it will make any difference. Our school it is either pass or fail, but the % you get makes no difference as to when you are accepted, but other schools are different. Best of luck in your future endeavors!!!

You used to be accepted and then you'd take that to see if you'd be in the Success Program or not, but I think now you have to pass it.

I know each school is different, but ours was 70% in both reading and math you had to get and if you did not get that in one section you had to retake the entire test. You were also only able to take it once a semester. I hope you have better news than I just told you. GOOD LUCK!

My school is 50 to pass, 70s to be competetive. I'm working towards a very in demand program, and basically, if you just barely pass the NET, you really don't have much of a chance to get in, unfortunately. My school looks at a combo of GPA, references, and NET test scores for admission, and among the students who pass the NET, there is a ranking from highest to lowest - I think they assign a point system - so many points for 4.0 GPA, so many points for each percentage level on the NET, so many points for how many pre-reqs have been completed. THen they take the references into consideration - are you recommended strongly to the program, anyone have any reservations about your ability, etc. Good luck to you OP, sounds like w/ your math score, you'll do okay. I didn't score terribly well on my reading portion either, and I'm a former English major! I'm in agreement that the reading selection was horrendously boring and not very clear. And I'm what most people would call a very good reader. So, try not to feel bad! If they offer retakes of the NET, you could always do that!

Do you know the website for the net test scores so i can obtain my scores so i csn start my tranfer to the rn program
