Got a great job. But trip already paid for

I just got a job offer from a great hospital (PCT) and this is my dream job. However, my husband and I planned a 5 day trip months ago for the end of April. How do I bring this up to my employer and what should I expect? I mentioned it to the HR lady and she said Id have to discuss it with the nurse manager

I've been in the same situation; it was no big deal. Just tell your manager about it at the first appropriate moment. They should be able to let you take unpaid time off or else borrow against your PTO, if you get any. And if for some reason she can't let you have the time off, at least you'll know up front.

Do just that, talk to the NM. Hopefully they are reasonable and it shouldn't be a problem.
