From one DCN student to another I know how wonderful it feels to get a clinical placement secured.

I have a question though...Was there a reason you were pursuing a preceptorship at a LTC instead of an Acute Care facility?

Woo Hoo! Good luck to you. :)

I was told I could use a LTC for NR 171 since I couldn't secure a hospital site around here. I also have a contract with a medical clinic, but no hospitals.

Marci,

This is awesome news. Congrats and I am sure you will do a fine job. Also keep in mind that once you get these clinical hours under you belt you may have an easier time with the local hospitals. You will be done the pn portion before you know it and hopefully the fact that you are a pn will also help you secure a site in your second year. I found that once that first big clinical was out of the way it was generally easier to speak with the nurse educators, etc.

Congrats

congrats////good to hear you doing so well
