Discussion

Got a call today....

So the job I've been interviewing for? Didn't get it.

Principal said that I'd done a "great job" but they hired someone with "a LOT of elementary school nursing experience." That's cool. Can't really compete with experience. He said if she doesn't accept the position he "may be in touch" with me, but of course, not holding out hope.

It's okay. I'm disappointed, but it's not like I don't already have a good job (OR nurse), and I'll try again one day.

Thanks for all the advice you all have given me.

sorry it didn't work out for you but keep the options open. Anything can change at any time. Also if you sometimes have days off during the week M-F you may want to see if you can get on that school's sub list. Subs are very hard for me to come by and certainly if my school was looking they would ask those people first if an opening came up. Good luck!

Keep trying! 100kids is right on target about getting in as a sub - i know the discussion has come up many times when we've had openings in my district as to why we don't just hire one of our subs for full time.
