Got Accepted- Advice About What To Do Before Classes Begin

Published

I recently found out that I got accepted into an LPN program starting in January. Any advice about things I should brush up on before classes start?

Nothing can prepare you! Haha Kidding...I'd get your books asap, make sure you get a good drug book that is easy for you to understand. I like Mosbys Drug Guide for Nurses. Nothing really prepares you, I'm sure you did some studying to get in already. Good Luck! :)

Majority of the LPN/LVN programs start out with A&P, medical terminology, and or Nursing Fundamentals/Basic Care so if you would like, you could read over that and also look at your vital signs BUT, if I were you, I would just relax and just enjoy my freedom and free time because Nursing school is already hard, stressful, and a lot.

We have course packs so when I hit a new semester I do as much as I can before the semester starts. For example in Nursing Arts (a combo of fundamentals and med surg) we have take home quizzes in our course pack and I did them all so I don't have to stress about them.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I just want to get ahead of the game so I'm not super stressed out.
