Do ya'll want to meet up at the orientation? I am planning on getting there pretty early so that I make sure I have a parking spot, get all my materials and get a front seat in the room (so I can hear everything properly!).
Oh, and getting all this shot information is going to be fun; I've moved 11 different times in my life...that's a lot of hospitals!
If you haven't gotten your Palm yet, keep an eye on the Palm Inc. web site. When I bought mine, they had a promo (and I have seen it since) which was $100 off any order over $300. Great deal! Also, I suggest www.betterworldbooks.com for used books; especially the review/rationale books, and even our text books will be monumentally less expensive. You do want to have the required edition (I think,my opinion. Some didn't.)
I actually got the Samsung Omnia. I wanted to make sure I styaed on the verizon network ( shared plan with my family). It has Windows Mobile 6.0 which is completely compatible with the nursing constellation appl. Thanks for the advice on the books. I purchased most of mine from Amazon.com...I will reference the other website for the future. Thanks.:wink2:
Congrats to all who got accepted for this fall! I recently just applied to AACC for spring 2010. Can anyone tell me how long does it take for AACC to let you know wheter or not you've been accepted for that following term? Also were any of you put on a waiting list? Any information that you can share with me will be extremely helpful because I am so eagerly to get started so that I can finally pursue my dreams. Thanks.
The deadline for the fall applicants was Mar 15th. I recdeived my " you've been placed on the waitlist" letter around the first week in June. I attended the initial orientation and was taken off the waitlist within 30 minutes of being at the orientation ( Praise God:yeah:). I would just brush up on your main prerequisites ( A&P II, Microbiology, Chemistry). Reading books on critical thinking and test-taking for nurses would also be helpful. If you get an acceptance letter or waitlist letter, make sure you attend the orientation and make sure your vaccinations are up to date. I applied to AACC and HCC. I was waitlisted for both schools. Then later on, I was accepted by both schools and turned down HCC. I hope this was helpful. If you are meant to be a nurse, you will get in.
