Gordon State College (GSC) Spring 2020

Published

Just throwing this out there to see if anyone on here applied to Gordon State College's ASN program for Spring 2020?!

If your GPA and test scores are good you should be fine. I think all of us are going to get in.

I didn’t even find anything that says it helps with your chances of getting... only that you might be able to opt out of certain clinicals... but I’m sure it influences their decision at least a little bit

Yeh, I honestly don't even remember a section for that in the application.

I know they said in the application to include a copy of your certificate/license/etc if you have one but other than that it didn’t talk much about them... at UWG they determine acceptances based on a point system and for being certified as a nursing assistant you would get a point for working as a CNA for at least 6 months.

Soooo... how factual is this envelope thing... lol some threads say a clear window is an acceptance and no window is a denial ? does anyone know if this is true?

Does UWG require the cna license?...like is there no way around it? I'm also applying there and i just thinks is so dumb to force you to pay 800$ for that license if you're applying to nursing school/

Yeah I’m pretty sure you have to have it before you start the program.

Oh gosh... I have no idea but that freaks me out lol ? watch them change all envelopes to no windows just to mess with our heads when we first see our letters ?

I’m nervous about the envelope too ? I know that my friend said when she got accepted into the education program, it was a super thin letter with a clear window

Do y'all have any idea what the problems will look like on the dosage calculation exam? It's kind of crazy that we have to take this exam before starting the program because we have no idea what to expect... At my old school they took the exam after their first semester.

I’m not sure. My cousin is in the nursing program at Clayton. She said she will show me how to do it if I get in. Is anyone checking their mailbox everyday frantic? It could be here at any time ?

Wait.... i thought they said no dosage anymore..? I was studying from a kindle book back in Augusta and September but i stopped. It’s a purple book called “nursing calculations for nursing students” on amazon. And it was great!
