Gordon State College (GSC) Spring 2020

Published

Just throwing this out there to see if anyone on here applied to Gordon State College's ASN program for Spring 2020?!

Hey! I'm applying..this is my first time applying and i am pretty nervous because the wait is just detrimental lol. Have you heard of how the process goes?..first KAPLAN, then wait how long before being able to take the dosage calc test? Like do they tell us by email, mail or what if we have moved on... does everyone that score above a 62 get to take the dosage test???? SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONSSSSSS!

I know right?! I don't think everyone that scored above a 62 get to take the dosage test... I think you get accepted then have two chances to pass the dosage test before you can start the program but I'm not 100% sure. How did you do on the Kaplan? Do you know how many students they will be accepting for this cohort? The website doesn't provide much information about this entire process ?

I got an 84 on the Kaplan considering i never studied, I can't be upset. And yeh! the website doesn't have much info...from previous threads they say they will admit 95 student but who knows.. I'm a little upset they extended the Kaplan test date tho lol there is a whole other date for august with like 20 students due to take the exam that day which gives me a lot more competition. So from counting how many people are taking the Kaplan there is 133 so far. I was told we would hear back in October so I am crossing my fingers.

That's such a long time from now ? I've read that anything in the 80's and up on the Kaplan is really good. I got an 81 so I think we should be okay! Someone said the pass rate was only 60% so I got super excited when I got an 81 haha?

I'm really hoping so! I've been studying up on dosage calc. Its really like a chem math refresher. Im using this ebook i found on amazon. It's pretty good. I just want to be prepared in the case that I make it.

Is there a link somewhere to the curriculum for the program? The ASN page has so little information compared to the BSN page ?

So i actually just look up “Gordon state course catalog” and you will find something there. I’m not sure how up to date it is but it gave me a pretty good idea as to how often lectures/clinical/ labs are held.

Do you know if they have classes during summer semester?? I feel so out of the loop since I didn’t go to school here for my pre-req’s ?

No they do not. Neither does the BSN program. ANd same. Did you apply to this coming cohort?

Has anyone heard anything back yet..? This is such a long wait !
