Goodwin Summer 2022

Published

Hi, just looking to see if anyone else has applied to Goodwin for their nursing program this Summer? I applied for the Spring start and didn't have enough points so I'm back at it again with an extra point this time and hoping for the best.

Soooo nervous! These last 2 days have been killing meee!

@Lauren R uhgggg same. I really don't understand why our advisor can't let us know? like its 2022, let us know by email then send out all the info we need.

Exactly. This system seems a little outdated. Some highly regarded universities send out their acceptance/rejection letters via email. So everyone gets them at once.

Yeah I agree like why did I spend 30 minutes on the phone with an advisor yesterday picking out classes that I may not even need when she could have just been like you're accepted we don't even need to talk or you're not accepted and we need to pick out classes. Very dumb waste of time. Some transparency would be nice.

That just seems silly! If you’re accepted it’s a waste of your time and the advisors time. The letters should at least be sent out for advising starts, or our advisors should be able to just tell us.

So I called the nursing dept. They also told me they’re mailing them Monday. Monday is a holiday. I tried telling her that. She didn’t even know that. She won’t give me a straight answer. Then caught a NASTY attitude. I’m going to email a Dean today. I’m really fed up with this school.

WOOOOOOOOOW I am heavily regretting not applying to other schools. Keep us posted on what the dean says if you email. I think I have the contact for the head of the nursing department if you want that.
I get that they get annoyed but that’s on them; approach the application process better. Have somewhere online we can look for updates.

Imagine how we feel though, we're waiting and waiting with mixed signals. I get their frustration with the constant calls, but like you said then have an email being sent out or an update on the process!

We pay way too much to be spoken to with an attitude and have no information. We wouldn’t call and frustrate them if they gave us information in the first place. It’s their own fault they get frustrated.

Are we just supposed to sit on our hands the whole time and get screwed over?

I'm also nervous about waiting and waiting then not getting accepted and having the classes I would've registered for being taken.

Exactly! That’s exactly what they’re making happen.
My alternative classes are American Sign Language, which the school claims to offer but never actually has the classes. So I would be forced to apply to another school. I have no co or prerequisites for the nursing programs left.

did you end up calling or emailing the dean? I honestly would just call them because there is absolutely no reason to be screaming at someone when we've all been told different dates. when I called they said that I would have it by the end of this week, so what does that mean???
