Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern NY

Published

Hi everyone. I am planning to apply to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern so I would like to know if anybody works there or knows anything about this hospital. Any info about pay, benefits etc will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

hi i was wondering how your reseach on GSH in Suffren went??? Im moving to Nanuet and I am planning to apply there but I don't know anything about this facility, salary, benefits, working enviroment... any info will be appreciated :) thanks

Good Samaritan Hospital may be an ideal place for you to work if you are moving to Nanuet since we don't have a lot of choices up here compared to New York City. I think the other place that you might want to consider is Nyack hospital. Honestly, based on what I learnt, there is no much difference between these two hospitals. In terms of salary, Goodsam pays a little more; they start with roughly $32/hr including shift differential and experience pay. They also offer a $3000 sign on bonus. I've been working at Goodsam since December last year; the experience has been challenging considering the fact that i previously worked in a long term care setting. Let me know if you need any more info.

hi thanks for your message... do you like the people who you work with? and nurse managers? what floor do you work on? does GSH offer 401K plan to employees? and how are the benefits??? thanks for your help..!

oh one more question? is GSH a teaching hospital?

The benefits are not bad at all. I'm not sure if you know that they have the 1199 union which is one of the best around. My Nurse Manager and my other coworkers are very supportive and we all get along well. GSH is not a teaching hospital. This is why i mentioned it might be different from what you are used to in the city. When will you put in an application? I will be happy to put in a word for you.

no it isn't.

I have not worked at GSH but an EMT-B i have dropped many patients there. Its a level II trauma center nd the ER can be quite busy.

I am also interested in working at Good Sam. any idea what they are starting nurses with 15 years of experience?
