Good Nursing School in Cagayan de Oro?

Published

Hello, this is my first post.

I am a U.S. citizen married to a Pinay, we are considering sending my sister in-law to nursing school and we are curious if any forum members were from the CDO area? We would like to know what are the best schools for nursing in CDO and the approximate yearly cost for the training there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely, Xavier University is one of the best nursing school in the Philippines. They offer good training to nursing students with added formation as it is a Jesuit runned school. Your sister-in-law will definitely appreciate being sent there.

Entrance to the university is quite difficult though since nursing belongs to the quota course category. You can try to visit their website for more info. www.xu.edu.ph.

God bless.

dear tim,

Well that depends if youre a second corser or not... I think xavier university doesnt accept students if youre not a fresh graduate from highschool. well thats what happend to me. i am forced to study in a different school because they wont let me take my nursing in xavier university. well i guess whats important is that just finish the damn course and pass the local board and the NCLEX exam. :) theres are alot of schools here to choose from.... :)

Tim,

XU is a tough school to get into and they have a very high standard. I went their for my pre-med as a Filipino citizen. I think it won't matter which school she goes to in Cagayan de Oro. All nursing school in CDOC are accredited. So, she'll have better chance if she applies to more than one school. My sis went to Capitol University (http://www.cu-cdo.edu.ph/). She'd been working here in the US for 10 years now. Liceo is also a good school.

tim,

hai tim,i can recommend you liceo de cagayan university because they accept transferees and also this is the number 1 nursing school in mindanao, they have standardized teaching in theory and skills.lots of filipino nurses in u.s are from liceo..100 percent of nursing students took the board exam, passed the examination.but still it depends upon u tim.
