I thought I'd start a thread for Phoenix.

Anyone got any good information?

Does anybody know of a Phoenix hospital that takes new grads into the OR?

Check out Maricopa Medical Center. They said they would prefer 1 year experience, but they would consider new grads if truly interested.

I heard the Phoenix Children's Hospital has a wonderful new grad program. Anyone know about it?

I was in the new grad program at PCH in '98. I don't know if the program is the same, but it was good experience. We took classes and had a pretty long orientation period. I learned a lot from my preceptors. HTH.

I am a HUC at Maricopa Medical Center, and am taking my last prereqs next semester to get into the nursing program!!! Woohoo!!! Anyway, I know that the 'Copa hires new grads. We have new grads in my unit, and also several LPN's that are getting their RN soon...and that is just in one unit. Maricopa Medical is a good sized facility, and we are definitely suffering from the nursing shortage!!!

Thanks. I'm really hoping that I can do something when I graduate!
