Im looking for my next travel contract, I am currently in GA on my 1st assignment with Cross country... Looking for some good suggestions for summer that would be nice for a young black 27 year old female. Im looking at Mossouri, Virginia, Tennesse, or Texas. What do you think about the area as far as pay, housing, and weather? I have really bad asthma and cardio-neurogenic syncope. Also considering getting with Cirrus Medical Staffing for better pay or benefits.

hey i am thinking about starting my first assignment. please describe to me how was yours because i have heard horror stories. why did you choose GA do you already live there? texas is great during the summer it can be hot though. the standard of living is lower than most states but the pay is not as good as i have heard. i live there by the way

i say give it a try, my 1st experience has been great. the agency has been good to me and the hospital and unit is really traveler friendly. my patient assignments have even been good. i also heard horror stories, makes me think i really lucked up on my first contract. i picked ga because my dad lives here, so i didn't need housing. ok thanks. yeah i have submitted for a contract

hey meisha can you send me your recruiters name and info if you dont mind PM please

I too am a young black but 26yr old female and I think you should consider texas. I have had all positive experiences in both Houston and San antonio. I really wanted to go to Dallas but I never went. The housing in houston was phenomenal from what I heard. I took the stipend instead. The weather in both Houston and San antonio is ok depending on what time of year you go. I went to houston in the summer and boy was it hot! But I had so much fun in Houston. I was single and met lots of people. THeres so much to do you cannot count on two hands. San Antonio is more laid back but beautiful scenery. The one downside to texas is allergy season. My allergies were the worst they have ever been in my life. But I stayed on my meds and when my body got used to the allergens I was ok.

I traveled with American Mobile and Nurse choice. CHeck it out! I think you'll enjoy either city.

I'm from Maryland and used to go to Virginia all the time. Virginia is beautiful but some areas are pretty boring if you ask me.

Hope this helps : )

@futurenurse2b hey can you tell which hospital you worked for in houston and san antonio. i am considering a job there right now and i cant pick between the two
