  1. Nevermind the date of the 1st post are old
  2. You're right as far as the expense. That would be $700 each way to ship it. plus a $300 round trip flight. But I would hate to put the miles on my car and take the drive. I also wouldnt mind if the agency would just cover a rental car in my contract. That would make my situation much easier.
  3. Im with Cross Country, they are 1st timer friendly. It can be challenging to get that first contract. After that it gets much easier. Im also with Cirrus Medical Staffing. I think you should be with at least two for more options.
  4. Thank You! I will look up that company today
  5. I absolutely loved this! So much useful information. Thank you. Im going to try to go for a washer & dryer and a pool. Thats something thats a big deal to me
  6. This is my first time taking the housing. Just curious to all travelers, What are some little things that make a big difference in the housing they provide? Also what can you negotiate in your apartment section of the contract?

Right now I have an offer in Texas (15 hrs away from my current contract & 24 hrs away from my tax home), should I ship my car or do a rental car? I really dont want to drive and put the miles/wear & tear on my car.
  8. Well You have been a great help for me :) I am from Maryland too! I have been offered a position in Fort Worth, TX. Im very excited to start. Thank you for your help!

What are the DC agencies you all work for? My agencies (Cirrus & CCTC) don't have much for the DC/VA area.
  10. I just got a really good pay offer for Dalton, GA. Everyone keeps telling the location sucks lol (for a young lady). Im not sure if I should take it. My agency will be placing me in an apartment in Chattanooga, TN. Anybody thoughts? Malls, Concerts, Bars, Black hair salons, Restaurants, Amusement/ Water Parks?
  11. My contract states specifically, On Call, Overtime, and Holiday rates. which is around $30 an hr.
  12. i say give it a try, my 1st experience has been great. the agency has been good to me and the hospital and unit is really traveler friendly. my patient assignments have even been good. i also heard horror stories, makes me think i really lucked up on my first contract. i picked ga because my dad lives here, so i didn't need housing. ok thanks. yeah i have submitted for a contract
  13. Im looking for my next travel contract, I am currently in GA on my 1st assignment with Cross country... Looking for some good suggestions for summer that would be nice for a young black 27 year old female. Im looking at Mossouri, Virginia, Tennesse, or Texas. What do you think about the area as far as pay, housing, and weather? I have really bad asthma and cardio-neurogenic syncope. Also considering getting with Cirrus Medical Staffing for better pay or benefits.
