Hi! I'm new to this site, and this is my first post :) I'm wondering if anyone can help me in my decision between Barnes Goldfarb nursing school or Chamberlain. I just got the call from Barnes today that I'm accepted! So that's very exciting. I have 2 or 3 semesters left of pre reqs and would be starting Jan 2013. But I also planned to apply to Chamberlain as a backup. When I first researched schools I had my heart set on Barnes, but then became interested in Chamberlain. Does anyone know the pros/cons...? I feel like this will be a tough decision. Also, like most nursing students now I'm a mom to a 2 year old and also work. So I'm wondering if one program is a little more accelerated or tougher than the other? I know nursing school in general won't be a breeze and I don't expect it to be, but I'd like to go for one that I could hold a job with. And I was told by a Goldfarb advisor that you're basically monday through friday full time between classes and practicals. Any advice would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance:)

I haven't heard many good things about chamberlain if you were already accepted to Barnes please go for it.
Oh really...hmmm...ok thanks! I've actually heard the same. A couple great things from some, but not so good from others. So there hasn't been much consistency on the positives for Chamberlain.

Chamberlain doesn't seem to have a strong "voice" on the boards. You could try to do a search to find more info from past postings. But, I persoanlly have not heard anything re: Chamberlain. I'm a future Barnes student and I didn't consider Chamberlain bc they don't offer an accelerated BSN in St. Louis, only a 3 yr BSN program. Also, the program seems to have a focus on the online component, which is not what I was looking for.
Maybe some Chamberlain students might chime in to give more info!
Ok, turns out Chamberlain does have an accelerated BSN, according to some other posts? This was not made clear on the website to me!
thanks for your reply! Yes Chamberlain also offers an accelerated program. I've been so ecstatic about Barnes, that unless something falls through there I'm going to stick with them! I just got my acceptance letter officially and my place held for the spring 2013 term. Expected grad date is may 2014. Not bad!I can't believe I'm getting closer!
That's wonderful news! I'm really excited as well. I'm sure things will fall into place for you and it will all work out. My only concern now is to secure enough financing for the program. Since we can only get up to $12500 in fed loans, I'm hoping I can make up the rest with a bank loan, or financial assistance (that would be ideal!)
It's such a great feeling to take steps to get closer to our nursing goal!

Hi Isaacsmom09, I'm also planning on going to Goldfarb Accel. starting spring 2013, so we might be there together! I think we're going to be pretty busy... have you finished the pre-reqs? I just started them this spring, and am taking a bunch now so hopefully I'll be able to work more in the fall to save some $.
