Golden West College Spring 2013

Published

Anyone else out there admitted to GWC for Spring 2013? I want to start meeting my classmates! I know they will have an orientation in a few months, but I thought I'd get a jump on it. Let me know if you want to get together for coffee some day!

Margaret

I am very, very happy to say yes, I will be spending two years with you! Maybe someone should set up a Facebook page?? Makes it pretty simple to communicate with each other. Just a thought. A little about myself. I am older and decided to follow my heart and passion to become a nurse. With support of my wife and two boys, both in elementary school, here I am. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, and still live in HB. However I am as far from GW, as HB allows. I look forward to meeting everyone, and maybe we can talk Margaret into starting a FB page for us?

Congratulations! I was also accepted for spring 2013. Did your letter give you an orientation date? Mine just said to email themthe day you want to take the TEAS. that was the only directions they gave me and to show up for Teas test and will give further instructions. Is that what your directions were too?

Yes, that is the standard letter of Rec. Cory Staley

Thanks Cory, I was expecting more direction on what to do but I guess they need us to pass the TEAS first. I look forward to meeting you guys and starting this journey.

[h=1]hello everyonce, I just found it on GWC website. So, basically, GWC nursing school will not be "LOTTERY" anymore, but based on POINT SYSTEM to determine admission into the program; effected next JAN/2013.

Now, In Orange County, Schools using POINT SYSTEM are Saddleback, Cypress, GWC.

This is for the nursing students at GWC that were accepted spring/fall 2013. 1. when did you first start taking your nursing pre-reqs and how long did it take you/how many semesters did it take you to complete pre-reqs? 2. when did you (become eligible to)start applying for nursing school and how long did it take before you were accepted into a program?
