Golden West College - alternate list for Fall 2010

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site so bare with me. Ok so I am on the alternate list at GWC for Fall 2010 regular RN program. I took the Teas test last month in April, but still remained on the alternate list per the proctor. The letter they gave me after I took the teas said I "moved up on the list...I'm considered a student ready to enroll for classes...but no spaces available" so I'm still waiting patiently. This year is the school's first time doing the yearly admin application so I'm not sure if anything changed regarding alternates. I heard that so many alternates get accepted but I don't know if I will or not. The lady said there's no spot open at this time but I might have a chance still in June...? Er? They've finished testing people for the teas last month so all the alternates that did get accepted has max them out on the spaces that became available. Most of the people I talked to that were alternates and took the teas all got accepted except me. I guess I'm at the bottom of the barrel. I did better on my teas than a lot of the people that got accepted...so I don't think my teas score matter. Is there anybody in the same boat as I am who took the teas and is still waiting as an alternate? I'm I wanna be a happy lol

Hey all ! I just got into the program for Fall 2010 as an alternate. I only have 2 weeks to finish all the paperwork and what not. I was wondering what shoes you were planning on buying? I was not able to go to orientation due to me just being accepted today, so i am not sure how strict they are on the shoes. I found white nike shox but they have a little gray on them...I am soooo excited ! I got accepted into CSULB and was planning on going there but once I they called me, i immediately knew I wanted to take this pathway.

Congrats lkirchy! I just left the program because I got into Cypress at the last minute. I have the med-surg book, 2 extra small uniforms (tunic and pants) and the 3 patches from CNSA if you want to buy them from me. The book is 180.00 at the bookstore, but I will sell it for 150.00 with the patches included. the uniforms come from Dove professional (the only place the school allows you to get uniforms from). the tops are 42.00 each and the pants are 31.oo each on the website, I will sell them at cost so you dont have to pay shipping or tax (156.00 for both sets). you can go on the dove website (doveapparel.com) and put in your dimensions to get your size to see if these will fit you. they take about 3-4 weeks to ship from dove, so if mine fit, you will be ready for clinicals in 2nd week!

Does anyone have an idea of how many qualified applicants there typically are and how many students are accepted for each semester? I am going to be applying for the 2012-2013 school year this fall and just want to know how well my chances are..
