Golden West College ADN Spring 2023

Updated:   Published

It seems like every cohort/application cycle has one of these pages. I wanted to start a new thread for the Spring 2023 cycle so we can keep each other updated during the application period and ask questions. Best wishes to everyone applying!

The schedule came out for the nursing I wonder why ours is longer in the past the class on Monday was from 8-2 now it is from 8-5. I wonder why ours is longer this time?

Where do you find the schedule for nursing?

I just looked up the classes for Spring 2023. https://ssb-prod.ec.cccd.edu/PROD/pw_pub_sched.p_search?Term=202330&college=GW

After a long and careful decision, I have decided to give up my spot in the program and go with a different school that better suits my needs. So whoever is ranked next on the alternate list, you will be offered admission. ?

@HaloNursing aw thank you for letting us know!! The best of luck in your program!! ?

Hey Kenji, do you have anywhere we can ask you questions? I cant send messages on here because I don't have platinum and I know the UI for allnurses is kind of annoying.

Per AllNurses TOS, I can only refer to my FB page and not my email. Send me a message there and I will do what I can.

Patient alternate here! Has any alternates heard of anyone getting in and what number? TIA!!

My cohort (2nd semester) had alternates in the teens get in. It was something like 14, 17?

Hey kenji! Just a quick question. How strict are they on all white leather shoes? I got all white on clouds a few months back for school but unfortunately they’re not all leather. Is this something they strongly enforce? TIA!

If you have Clouds (I'm guessing from ON? I'm using the Cloud 5 images), you should be good to go. Some professors are stricter than others, but they also understand student budgets are tight.

The Nursing Handbook says this on Uniform Policy page 46:
"2. SHOES: Only all white smooth leather shoes with closed heel and toes are to be worn with the uniform. White tennis shoes without insignias or markings are allowed"

And that is mostly how they enforce. Leather shoes are the recommendation/preferred, but if you have white Tennis shoes/sneakers, you'll be fine.

Many of my cohort have Tennis shoes with like a tiny bit of color on an insignia or the heel of the shoe, and it is fine. They are just trying to avoid shoes like have a Massive color insignia or several stripes of color.

Hi everyone! Is there a facebook group for this cohort already? Would love to join ?

Thank you so much for the helpful info! Where do you find the Nursing Handbook? I’ve tried looking all over the website for it and I can’t seem to locate it.

also, so sorry last question!

Do we have to wait until we’re cleared by the nursing office to register for the 2 classes? Or can we sign up for them using our normal registration appointment?
