Going back to the hospital after being in LTC for two years...

Hi,

I've been a nurse since 2001, worked in the hospital on a med-surg/oncology unit about six years ago, then switched to some agency nursing, home health and the last two years have been in LTC. A new hospital just opened up by my house and I applied and low and behold, got the job! It's part time on a med-surgical unit and I'm wondering what's the best way to "refresh" my memory after not being in the hospital for quite some time now. I mean, we had some heavy patients at the nursing home, but I just feel that I will be a little rusty...any advice or ideas on where to get a quick refresher course? Thanks!!!!

What parts do you think you will be rusty on? I know when I went back, it was the new equipment that I had to learn, but again, that's normal for any new job.

Do you have a brain sheet? There are lots of ideas on this website for different formats.

Just starting IV's, probably the machines, ventilator and trach care, inserting a foley...stuff like that. No, I don't have a brain sheet? Where can I get one? Thanks!!!!
