Going back to college with foreign education

Published

I am from South Africa and did a 4 year diploma in nursing science from a local college. I graduated as a RN and Midwife. I have since moved to the US and have a NY State RN license.

I have been looking into doing my BSN and it is very confusing. I had my Transcripts evaluated and it said I had a equivalent of a 3 year graduate nurse diploma plus an additional specialization in midwifery. What does that mean?????? Do I just need one more year of college or what?????Has anybody gone thru this??

Hi Grannynurse

Wwua.. Thanks for good explanation...and for the ballons! I already wrote down this for my notes.

Now, would you please explain the degrees in Germany?

Grannynurse :balloons:

[Yes, it's the same like here, 2 years for MSN, and I think 3 years for BSN.

There are not so many Univerities there where you can study BNS and MSN in nursing, like here in the US.

It's called Master in Krankenpflege ( MSN) und (BSN) Bachelor in Krankenpflege
