currently i'm doing my prereq. for nursing. A lot of schools in Ca have a waiting list, so I was planning to apply staight to University for BSN. (my main goal is to become a CRNA). I cheked it out the SacState and San Fran State and i dont think there's any waiting list, just TEAS exam and high GPA. Please let me know any tips :D. And if it's a good idea. Thank you :D

nursing programs at public universities are usually impacted. the best thing for you to do is to call the nursing programs at those universities and ask. and just to clarify, the RN is the license. You can't say you want to be a BSN and not an RN. I guess you can get your BSN and not decide to sit for your RN License should you choose not to.

anyways, good luck on your road to becoming a CRNA, after all, it's one of the highest paying nursing specialties.

Yes, you can get your BSN degree (a level of education) and decide to forgo getting the RN license. But most would question why you were doing that. Your title is misleading. Almost all nursing schools in the state of CA are impacted and have waiting lists due to too many applicants for too few seats. You need to inquire at each institution you are considering to find out how to apply and what your time frame is. Schools, particularly in the Bay area, are almost impossible to get into. Seem to recall someone saying they were up against 1200 or so applicants for either SFSU or UCSF, don't remember which. Sounds like near impossible to me from a practical standpoint. I'd suggest starting off with a little research on licensure -vs- degrees.

A BSN is a RN.
