I am trying to make the decision to get either my ADN vs my BSN. I do want my BSN at some point. I have an 8 month old and my husband works full time and I'm staying home as of now. We live in St. Louis so there are lots of great places to work once I'm out. There are a few places offering new grad ADNs tuition reimbursement to go back for their BSN once they've started work, and most jobs that prefer a BSN also want experience.
In your opinion and with your experience, what did you do, what would you do? What's your advice?
Clearly I didn't read the other posts. Whoops.

Well, the tuition reimbursement sounds good, but how much time do you have to give them, and how much is reimbursed? Do you need to work now, or can you just focus on your baby and school? If I had everything to do all over again, I would go straight for BSN.

I'd go straight for BSN. Tuition reimbursement is great in theory but a lot of places don't offer much to make even a tiny dent in the cost.

I personally went for my ADN (diploma, actually) because I wanted to be able to work as an RN while obtaining my BSN, which is what I'm doing now. By the time I finish my BSN I will have a year's worth of RN experience and a BSN. So far I'm happy with my decision.
