Just wanted to start this thread to support the applicants who are applying this year!

@Sam_walsh17 you should call GCC and tell them you didn't receive the welcome packet because they send you the instructions on how to register for the fingerprinting and drug screening in that packet. They want it completed by June 2.

Well that's not fair because I didn't get mine in time. I'll see what they say. I work on the 2nd so the 3rd is the only day I can do it.

Dreamon8, when did you submit your letter of intent? I'm wondering if the livescan deadline is the same for everyone. My deadline to submit the letter of intent was Friday May 29th. I can't imagine them only giving us Monday and Tuesday the get it all done...

Oh ok then nvm I had to turn in my intent form by May 20th which gave me about 2 weeks to respond.

I got the welcome packet on the day I was officially accepted into the program

Hmmm. I got my intent form on May 20th as well. Deadline to submit it was the 29th. I submitted it in like the 27th . When did u submit yours and how long after did u receive the info packet?

I got my alternate letter on the 5th and turned in the alternate intent form the next day accepting the seat that may open. I got an email the same day (on the 6th) stating a seat has become available and that I am officially in the program and I got the welcome packet attached to that same email.

Correction: I checked the dates and I got the alt email on May 11 and the welcome packet the next day when I accepted my seat sorry for the mistake

Hi guys!

I'm a new student and got accepted for the Winter/Spring 2016 program. Our class recently had orientation....we found out we have the option of purchasing hardcover, ebooks, or both. I'm thinking about going the ebook route. Since you guys are a semester in, I wanna pic ya'll brains about that. hard cover or ebooks? What worked best? Etc....

If ebooks, what kind of computer you recommend Mac? PC? Mac book air? Mac book pro?

I looked under the presention for LVN to RN, the hospitals are children hospital sunset, glendale hospital and 2 more.

Does anyone know if the clinical sites include any of the county hospitals i.e. LAC+USC, Harbor-UCLA, Olive-View, MLK?
