Hello everyone!
I have yet to see a forum for GCC's ADN Fall 2021, so I decided to make one since the application opens today! I know GCC is a lottery system, but I thought we can share stats, ask questions, and talk about anything in regards to the app!
I'm not sure if they have a public point system. All I read is an applicant needs to meet 75% of the chancellor's system. If they do have a public point system, please drop it below!
I have not submitted my application yet, but here is what I will be applying with:
Core GPA: 4.0 (No repeats/withdrawals)
English GPA: 4.0
Overall GPA: 3.91
I have taken the TEAS twice (for other schools), but my first time was an 81.3 (since they only take the first attempt!)
Good luck to everyone applying!
Hey guys just saw this update on the GCC website
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted our admissions process. Due to a large increase in student applicants and reduced opportunities for students to complete clinical hours, we will not be accepting new applications from July 15-August 15, 2021 for the Winter/Spring 2022 cohort. Students for this cohort will be selected from our current pool of eligible applicants. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please continue to check back on our website for updates, especially as conditions change surrounding COVID-19.

I know I'm pretty excited :)!
I have no idea!
Since they will be accepting eligible applicants from this app cycle for the next, I wonder if students who make it on the alternate list will automatically be accepted into the Winter/Spring 2022 cohort.

If, for instance, they normally accept 30 students per cohort but the cohorts are cut by 50% because of a lack of clinical spots, then we technically still have the same odds of getting in as we normally would. 15 spots X 2 cohorts = 30. But we don't know how much they had to cut their cohorts down. If they had to cut them by anything less than 50% then our odds go up. I feel good about that being the case. Either way we don't have to worry about filling out another application which is nice haha. I'm excited! Good luck you guys!

Really? They said they are making each cohorts smaller?

Yes. It's happening to a lot of schools. Some of them lost all of their clinical spots meaning they had to cancel their whole program. When they said "reduced opportunities for students to complete clinical hours", they mean they lost some clinical spots, and the cohorts can only be the size of however many clinical spots they have.

Hey! Commenting to stay on this thread. This app was tricky because it was all done on paper so its hard to track any progress ?
