What's better for a nursing job, glasses or contacts?

I see pros and cons for both:

Contacts: Pros: Look better on me, no pushing them up/no sliding down my nose

Cons: Dry out, eyes blur, could fall out

Glasses:Pros:Eyes won't dry out, eyes won't blur

Cons: Not as stylish on me, doesn't fit right (I've had 18 surgeries), have to push them up when looking down

I realize if you wear contacts, you should bring glasses just in case...

Which do you prefer, and what is better to wear on the floor?

i wear my glasses to work. and when i get home, there's so much splatter and crud on them that i can't imagine wearing contacts to work and getting all of that into my eyes!:o if your glasses don't fit, try getting them adjusted. and keep getting them adjusted until they do fit!

i just had to sign a paper stating i wouldn't wear my contacts in chemistry lab. i actually got to see the board for one day! lol

i just think it would be too much trouble to take out my contacts after class, then go straight to lab.

so, if we "can't" wear contacts in chemistry, i'm wondering how wise it would be to wear them in a clinical setting?

hmmmmm still confused on what to do. i really don't like glasses. i've never thought they looked good on me. :(

glasses and contacts are both bad. I suggest Lasik--I had it done 2 months ago and have never been happier at work. It's a more permanent solution and in the long run, it's worth the while.

My mother had some type of eye procedure done years ago, and never had to wear glasses or contacts again. Well, until now. She has to whip out the reading glasses. lol

I don't know. I'm just too chicken I guess.

I always wear my glasses at work. For one thing, it's so dry there that my eyes are killing me by morning. For another, so many times I *almost* get splashed with something and thank goodness I have glasses on for a little extra eye protection. Come on, do people really wear protective goggles at work?!?!

As for chemistry class, it's because some of the chemicals you'll be working with can cause problems with your contacts. Just the gasses raising from them is enough to make your eyes burn and possibly damage your contacts and your eyes.
