Gift for new Paramedic

My brother just finished his EMT-P (ironically, we both chose healthcare jobs late in life!). I would like to get him something. Would a stethoscope be appropriate?

Spyderco Rescue, Stethoscope and a Yeti Insulated cup. My 3 things I have to have.

I like the weatherman raptor in idea, but the one time I used them, I loaded them with so much blood that cleaning it was a chore. I still prefer the cheap ones that you can buy in bulk. Lose it and who cares.
