Hi everyone! I have been reading previous year threads like a mad woman and wanted to start one for the upcoming spring semester. If anyone is applying for spring 2019, we can share our stats and ask any questions here.
For me,
overall gpa: 3.89
science gpa: 4.0
teas: 91.3
volunteer hours: 250
I also had a question for anyone that has already submitted their application, the professor that is writing my letter of recommendation does not have a chance to write it until school starts and I'm stressing about the spring deadline, can I submit the majority of my application now and then add my letters of recommendation as they come?
Hope to see some of you in the spring, fingers crossed!
Hello future student nurses! GGBANS, a nursing and pre-nursing student club at GGC, has a Facebook, Instagram, and website if you are interested. It doesn't cost any money and is a great way to network with other nursing students and the staff. We have a meeting on November 28th at 12:15-1pm in the Skills Lab. I hope you all can make it!

I don't know any more people that got in though, sorry! It was my understanding that they send out denials along with acceptances so not hearing back might not be a bad sign. Good luck, I hope you get in!
I have a 78% for teas, a 4.0 GPA for science (overall GPA 3.93) and 178 hours for volunteering. Do you think my chances of getting into the program is high or not?? I am so nervous...

I would do everything you can to bump up that teas! From what I’ve heard, the average acceptance is usually at least 84. People get in with lower, but most of the people I have talked to who got at least 84 or above definitely get in. That is the absolute most important part of the application. They use different ATI tests to predict success on the NCLEX during nursing school, so the higher you score before nursing school, the better chance you’ll pass the NCLEX after graduation.
Hi! I'm also a current student at GGC. I still have 3-4 more classes to take and then my TEAS before I decide to apply but congrats on getting a 91 on your TEAS!! I'm currently in the process of studying before I take it in August so I have plenty of time. I just wanted your advice on how you studied (like what book did you use or websites to help) to get such a high score.

The nursing "kit" that you are given includes the supplies you will use in class to complete skills. Dressing change stuff, masks and gowns for PPE stuff, etc. The kit includes stuff for class, not things you'll use in clinical. You need to get your own stethoscope, pen light, etc. The scrubs are $45/top and the pants from the company are like, $20? I recommend 2 tops. You can get your own scrub pants as long as they're hunter green. And the shoes can have a little bit of non-white, but it needs to be either black, blue or silver, and only a little bit. If they're brightly colored you won't get away with them.

Hey @Ayaya, I was wondering if you recommend a specific stethoscope (brand and model)? Which do you use? Thanks!
