Hello! I know the GGC 2022 Nursing Program doesn't open until November, but I was wondering if anyone else was planning to apply this upcoming Winter! Here are my stats so far:

GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0 (So far, this is subject to change, but I'm hoping it would stay)

Volunteer Hours: 51 Hours

TEAS: Planning to take it during the Winter!

No I haven't gotten my BLS certification, not really sure if you can get it from the school cause I know they have AED certifications in the wellness recreational center and can sign up for classes, but I'm not really sure if that's the same thing. Were you able to register for classes yet? I tried registering for classes and I paid the confirmation fee, but I'm unable to register for classes. I don't know if we were supposed to wait first or what we're supposed to do

For those of you getting BLS, get it through the American Heart Association (AHA). They offer classes in the Metro Atlanta area where you can pay online and attend a short (3-4 hour) CPR/BLS class led by an instructor. You’ll receive your cards electronically or printed depending on the instructor. Make sure your BLS card is given through the AHA so it is legit.

Hi All!
I've started stalking other GGC posts and am hoping for a little info. I got accepted into the GGC Spring 2023 program and am wondering what your thoughts are on the program. I'm trying to decide between GGC and GSU downtown (pending acceptance/denial). Thanks so much for any input or tips!

Sure! So far the program is definitely challenging you have to be willing to commit the time and effort towards school to succeed, however it is a good program. The professors are all passionate and caring towards all students and their development into becoming a nurse. They teach you well and ensure you are prepared and ready for each step in the nursing program. The GGC program offers a lot of hands on clinical experience and training as well as insight into what is expected as a nurse at the bedside versus what you need to know for the NCLEX exam to receive your nursing license at the end.

Thank you so much for the insight! I appreciate it!

Did you end up going to GGC? I would love to know what your stats were when you got accepted. I'm going crazy waiting to find out if I got in for Fall 2023 or not.

I did and I LOVE it. I got accepted to GSU but after thinking about the cohort size, cost, and the communication within the GSU system, I decided on GGC. I know every day that I made the right choice. I love it here.

Stats:

TEAS 87 (99th percentile in science)
Overall GPA 3.6 (I have a previous BA where I earned a few Bs)
Science GPA 4.0 without any withdrawals or retakes
Outstanding recommendations from science professors

Thank you so much! I'm really hoping I get in but my anxiety about it is driving me nuts LOL are you still a student there? I'd love to chat if you are. My email is [email protected] if you ever have a few minutes I'd love to discuss my stats and your thoughts. I was hoping to talk to someone in the department about my application but I was never able to get a hold of someone.
