For the past several months, I get a sore throat, worsening head congestion, mostly URI symptoms. I work all of my shifts in a row (weekends, so I have 4-5 days off in a row every week. The symptoms get better when I'm off, but right back to square one the first night I work.
Does this happen to anyone else? I think the air is so dry inside the hospital that its causing the symptoms. (I've been in contact with my MD)
So, anyone else noticed anything similar. (I work on a general surgery floor, so most of our pts are not in for contagious illnesses.)
Is it an older building?? Could be allergies. My son walked into the courthouse with me a few months back and after being in the building for 30 minutes his eyes were red, swollen and watery. Allergy meds to the rescue once we got home :)

You need to discuss this with your PCP and occupational/employee health. Per the site terms of service we cannot offer medical advice or insight. If you notice no relief from taking a daily antihistamine all the more reason to consult with occ health/PCP
