Wow everyones stats sound competitive. Stay positive, if we dont make it in this year there is always next year. I got waitlisted last year, but i think i grew as a person and student during that time, and i wan to be a nurse even more. And thats totally right, these stats arent a true reflection of how good of a nurse you will be, or how well you do in the program. :)

Toonis, Thanks. I hope so too. I really want this more than anything. I did sign up again for the teas with one of my A&P friends. We are both trying to get in this year and it would be so awesome if she did. We really study well together and could even car pool to school. She didn't do well on her first go at the teas either but with everything else going on its really hard to study for it. We are taking it in mid January when there is now school to get in the way. Good luck to everyone!

I don't know much about the test. I took CSA 105 and it was very easy. I think if you are good with microsoft office you should do well. I was going to test out for ENG 101 because I already have ENG 102 but I was too afraid to fail. So I just took the class instead.

Bridgeport Hospital only offers a Diploma in nursing and I was planning to transfer to Southern to get my RN-BSN.

Actually this isn't accurate. Bridgeport does offer a degree option for their nursing program.

Associates Degree Program

The Associate in Science Degree Program is a collaborative effort between Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and Housatonic Community College. It allows graduates of BHSN to receive an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing from Housatonic Community College. To be eligible for the degree, the student must be a graduate of BHSN, pass the licensure examination as an RN, complete an additional required 3 credit course (ENG*E102 Literature & Composition), have completed at least 16 of the total credit hours at Housatonic Community College and enroll in their nursing program.

Please visit Housatonic Community College’s site for more information.

Oh. Wow, I guess I didn't look into it enough.

But what makes no sense is it says you need to pass the NCLEX and also enroll in their nursing program. Why would you have to enroll in their nursing program if you ARE an RN just to take a 3 credit English Lit class??

It would make more sense just to add English Lit to the program cirruculum and make it an ADN program.

The only classes you can actually take at BHSN are your nursing courses. Everything else will have to go through Housatonic. You can take your pre and co reqs at housatonic and your nursing classes at BHSN and once you are successful at becoming an RN, Housatonic will give you a degree. You enroll in the nursing program at Housatonic and they evaluate you on your credits taken at BHSN and Housatonic for your degree in nursing.

It is quite a bit more money to go there over the other community colleges but I hear very nice things about the program, especially for those who have what it takes to be a nurse but just don't rank so high on paper. We all now how competitive the CT CCNP's are.

Has anyone here taken a psychology class over the winter semester? If so, how was it?

General psych? And where are you thinking about taking it? Winter classes can be really intense, but this might be an easier one.

I think I'm going to take it at Gateway or Capital. And the class will be online.

July, I say pick out a good professor (ratemyprofessor.com is a good source) and go for it! It gives you another chance to improve your grade.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

I sent you a PM, since you can't post names on here. There is one teaching PSY 111 over the winter at CCC that is amazing!! and one that everyone avoids. Good luck it's not that bad.
