Getting ready to apply: CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2013

Good morning!

I am a current LPN working on pre-requisites for application to the CCC-NP for Fall 2013!

I'm taking most of my courses at Holyoke Community College and hope to transfer to Northwestern Connecticut Community College.

So far I have completed:

Nutrition 101- A

English Comp and Lit (6 credit course)- A

Biology w/ Lab- A

Math 085- A

This summer I am taking:

Intro to Psych

Math 095

This fall I am taking:A&P I

Chemistry

Computer Apps

Human Development

During the winter intersession I will take:Sociology

Spring 2013:

A&P II

Statistics

Microbiology

Public Speaking

On my list of things to do:

-Attend Nursing Information Session

-Take TEAS-V

I plan to continue after my ASN to my BSN from Elms College so I'm working on required courses for that program as well.

I found it. I'm also waitlisted. My God. This is too much.

I'm sorry. I feel like I was kicked in the stomach. I am already an LPN. I'm taking A&PII right now. It seems ridiculous to go back and take A&PI again. I forgot I also got a B- in chemistry too. That one I could take again I suppose. I'm going to see if I can get into Elms BSN 20 month accelerated program. I'm going to search around for any spring starts with late application deadlines. I didn't apply anywhere else.

It's going to take me two years at this point to get my ASN if I wait and apply for next year. I might as well just go right for the BSN. I'll be finishing this semester then going back to work full-time. I will take the summer off from school and regroup in the Fall.

Best of luck to all of you who were accepted and congratulations! You should be very proud!

How do we know if we get into our second choice?

You don't get into the 2nd choice they just have you put one down. They also have waitlists.

A friend of mine applied to NVCC. She tried checking and said nothing is coming up. I copied/pasted the way to do it from a few pages back but she said its not working.

"go in to banner self service. Select the school you applied to. You'll see a search bar on the top of the page. Just type "nursing" in there and its the only link that comes up for me. It says 2013-2014 nursing admission decisions "

She did it like what it says above. And nothing comes up. What is she doing wrong? She's ready to explode!

That's the way to do it. I don't know what else to say. I clicked on banner self service, clicked into the search bar and typed "nursing", the link 2013-2014 Nursing Admission Decision or something came up right away. Click on that and it will take you to the decision.

im still not getting anything.. last year when i was waitlisted i saw something right away.. so mayb this a good sign
