Getting ready to apply: CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2013

Good morning!

I am a current LPN working on pre-requisites for application to the CCC-NP for Fall 2013!

I'm taking most of my courses at Holyoke Community College and hope to transfer to Northwestern Connecticut Community College.

So far I have completed:

Nutrition 101- A

English Comp and Lit (6 credit course)- A

Biology w/ Lab- A

Math 085- A

This summer I am taking:

Intro to Psych

Math 095

This fall I am taking:A&P I

Chemistry

Computer Apps

Human Development

During the winter intersession I will take:Sociology

Spring 2013:

A&P II

Statistics

Microbiology

Public Speaking

On my list of things to do:

-Attend Nursing Information Session

-Take TEAS-V

I plan to continue after my ASN to my BSN from Elms College so I'm working on required courses for that program as well.

I look forward to getting to know others who are going through the process! Enjoy the day!

NVCC statistics for past 2 years:

2011: 333 applicants, 111 in eligible, 222 wait listed/accepted, 125 accepted

2012: 350 applicants, 125 accepted, over 120 wait listed; one girl in my bio class was wait listed 123

Yeah. That's about what I thought. 200-250 that means the girl in your class was like last on the waitlist.

I mean I was told that nvcc is consistently around 250. Maybe a little less. Maybe a little more. 250 is a good number. That means about 50% get in 50% don't. Just got an email back. I guess there's a delay and no set date now. Bummer.

You are the second person to say there is a delay! That really sucks! LOL What kind of delay? Does any one know? I bet it was technical difficulties with the new status link! Why did they have to change the process this year? LOL Well, I guess I can chill out now and take a breather!

This is absolutely Ridiculous!! I am so tired of waiting i just need to know before i go crazy!!! I just don't understand why they can't just send out an email saying to stop by so and so's office and they can tell you if you got in or not if there is a technical difficulty with the computers that shouldn't delay us getting our information.

I really need to know too. NCC said we would know tomorrow. I kind of convinced myself that I got in. And I keep telling people that I just need to know whether I got in for the spring or the fall. So the wait's not really bothering me. It's going to be awful if I don't get in though. I need to unconvince myself lol :D

I hear ya! I am going crazy too. They could call us and just tell us if we got accepted or waitlisted. I know they say "mid-April" and it is only 4/9, but it is crazy. Some people applied on November 1st! I applied December 28 and had all of my stuff in mid January, so I feel like I have been waiting an eternity!

It is getting so close and I am kind of scared to know!! Lol!! I had everything filed since November 1st.. It def feels like eternity!! We will all be relieved by next week I'm sure.

I think it will posted April 11-12th, that's when most people found out last year.

No we wont! We will all be on here complaining how long we have to wait for orientation! LOL Just think-in 2 years we will all be on here complaining that graduation is so far away, when it will really be like 5 weeks!

Maybe their testing all of us on how patient we can be. Lol!! We have to be patient with our patients so maybe it's their way of testing us!! Lol!! They probably keep a list of all the people who call and email on a daily basis!! Lol!!
