My stats aren't super-fabulous. My overall GPA is 3.64. I received an 89 on my TEAS-V. The first time I took it cold-turkey. I didn't have enough time to take it again. I received a B- in A&P I. Professors make all the difference. See my post about my "highest grade in the class on the exam being an 87%" post. I have an A- right now in her A&PII course. I figured taking her for lecture AND lab might make a difference. It stinks being the top performer in the class and still only getting an A-. I'll take it though! I'm also an LPN so hopefully they will consider me for the bridge. There are 140 seats in NUR201 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
3-4 pts is a lot for a student. I'm surprised. In the beginning of my last semester of LPN school it was rare for anyone to get 2 pts on an assignment. Towards the end it was routine to have the top students take 2 pts and rare that they would get 3 pts. That was on a Med-Surg floor though. We were constantly leaving the unit to go to testing or surgery with our patients so juggling 2 was difficult and managing 3 was a real challenge. Realistically, I love it when my patients are off the unit! It gives me a chance to get caught up and check in with my more stable patients. Thank goodness we don't have to go with them everywhere they go!!!!
I'm glad I read this- I didn't realize about the acceptance "letters" this year... I would have been going crazy in April!! I am just as crazy as you are- I check all day long to see if my GPA has been calculated. All of my reqs are showing as met, which is a relief. But I'm still worrying all day and every day. My hubby was like, I thought you would be calm by this point since it's mid-March but I think I am going to be on edge until mid-April!!
Re-admits are probably people who took time off for whatever reason (medical, maternity, personal reasons etc) as well as those who may have previously failed a class and are now being re-admitted b/c the class is now available for the person to retake.
Transfers being just that, students who are transferring over to the school, most likely those who have already completed nursing classes and are not entering the first year courses such as LPN's applying for the LPN to RN bridge, or nursing students from other schools who are transferring out of their current school for whatever reason (moving, dislike of program, etc)
CT Pixie explained it perfectly. Each program has a readmission/transfer committee. They decide who can be re-admitted, accept or deny transfers in or out from other CT CC's. It's for any student that drops or failed a course. I've seen students fail and return the next semester and some fail and be denied immediate readmission. A lot are medical and are usually right back in the next semester.
I thought anyone re-applying would get thrown into the pool with the rest of us if they are starting at the beginning. Anyone transferring into the nursing program would not be competing for a spot in NU 101, so that shouldn't affect us. Man, I wish it was April already!!! This wait is killing me! LOL
