Welcome

I would suggest contacting hospitals before you come over with your resume but a lot will depend on where abouts in NS you want to live and work. You do not need an agency and if in NS there is nothing stopping you from looking for work but may have to return back to the Philippines whilst being processed as you will need a medical.

Plenty of threads in the Canadian forum on CRNE plus Jan has posted a sticky which is worthy of a good read

thanks sirverdragon...

Hi, I don't know if posted on the correct thread. I just want to ask if you can bring your spouse and children in a Temporary Work Permit with a graduate nurse job offer? Thank you.

As long as you include them in your application then yes they can come with you. If your spouse wants to work then they will also need to submit a application. I do not think for NS you need to apply for a student visa for your children so they can go to school. this link on the CIC website will tell you all you need to know http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/work/work-faq06.asp

Does it affect your TWP application if you include your family? does the process takes longer and does the chance of getting denied is higher if you include your family? I asked this because most of the agencies here in the Philippines don't allow the family to be included not to affect the principal applicant. Thank you.

Not that I am aware of. If they are a nurse and plan on working as a nurse then they still have to go through a medical the same as you would have to. They are included on the main applicant but if planning to work they subit their own application at the same time as yours. It is silly not including families with application and if they are going with you then as far as I am aware even if not working you have to include them on the application. I promise you having completed the forms myself for my husband (he was main applicant) it is very easy and you do not have to use a agency

If I remember rightly what I did was exclude holiday hours. Only included hours I actually worked.

A lot will depend on how quick your application is processed and whether you have time to register for June CRNE but may be pushing it a bit as looking at website registration paperwork has to be submitted approx 2 months before date although does state international nurses have to contact re date

You will cause yourself a lot more grief if you don't included your family. It doesn't take any longer to process than an individual TWP. Don't be fooled by false info on this. Do everything correctly & you will be fine.

That's why it's better not to use an agency because they don't do things for you but for their own benefit!

A colleague of mine ended up separated from her family (including her 2 young children) for TWO years because they were not included by the agency on the original paperwork!!!!
