Getting Married during CRNA school

Nursing Students SRNA

Hi-

I will be starting CRNA school in about a week and wanted some advice from experienced students. Can you get married during school? I know it is not recommended. My fiance proposed this past summer after my acceptance to school, and wanted to marry in a reasonable amount of time because it would financially easier for me while in school. We want to wed in the Spring toward the end of my second semester of CRNA school, but I am extremely apprehensive and do not want to compromise my schooling. However, I do not want to put off my marriage either. We now have about 7 months to plan our wedding. We have already agreed on putting off a honeymoon until time permits. He has a steady job and it very proactive in the planning. Can this be done / should it be done. Any advice? All comments welcome- please be honest with me.

well i am not in school yet but i dont see how it would be hard esp if your fiance is into helping with the planning...really a wedding is a day in general, and even if it is a weekend away it shouldnt totally mess you up...on the other hand, if u start the program and see that it isnt doable, then just go to the courthouse if u need to be married now for insurance, etc, and have a big wedding when u grad!

Do you have family that can help? It can be done, but if you can, have a small wedding now, and have a bigger wedding and honeymoon after graduation.

I'll give a scenario that happend to a person in my CRNA program. She went through all the processes of a wedding while in CRNA school. She mangaged to get married, however she also managed to not finish the program.

If your fiance loves you he/she will be still be there at the end of the pure hell you are about to endure. Get done with school, finish your boards, then relax, get married and enjoy each other.....instead of studying on your honeymoon for a test you have to take when you get back.

hi, my advice is not to take any advice from any person who's not in school. i would also recommend not listening to people who are already out of school, because they just forget what's it like to be in school. (obviously some crnas did forget, it can be seen from how they treat the srnas) you can physically do it, like someone said it is just a day. but do you really want to think about your upcoming anesthesia exam while you're getting married? it's going to be your day and you won't be able to get your mind off school and anesthesia. i'm just saying if you have to get married then go ahead, but if you can wait, finish school, pass your boards and then get married. can you imagine the joy and the satisfaction? that would be a heck of a wedding gift to you.

take care

hey, i would recommend you get married now, its your day but its 1 day. you will have many more days to spend with him. clear the week of your engagement, make sure your not stressing about a test etc. and go get married and be happy as long as you love each other thats what really matters. you can do the big honeymoon later.

God bless!
