Getting Licenced In Alberta

Hello :)

I am moving to Calgary at the end of March. I have begun the process to get licenced as a Practical Nurse in Alberta. I have been licenced for 8 years in Ontario.

My area of experience has been Long Term Care.

Does anyone have any tips or hints about where to apply or any just any helpful information?

Go back to the Canadian forum and look at the sticky for direction to the college of nursing regulators.

Be prepared to spend cash, meet notaries, and fill in forms.

Oh, and AHS which employs nearly all nurses in hospitals, LTCs, and the community have had a hiring freeze for nearly a year. I think only casual positions are open to outside applicants (or the hell units that nobody wants to work on)
