Getting C's in Science Courses

Published

Hii everyone!

I'm currently doing my pre-reqs for the Nursing program, but I'm honestly really nervous. I'm currently holding up a C average in my Science classes. Keep in mind I still have to take Anatomy and Physio. I took a combination A&P class but still got a C in that. :/ If I do well in Anatomy and Physio getting an A or a B will that average out my C that I received in my combined A&P course? I mean I know C's aren't horrible, but their not amazing either.

My GPA is at a 3.0, and I really want to raise it up before I apply. I'm also considering a CNA to gain experience. Any advice?

I guess my advice would be look at your study habits and assess. Are you getting C's because you're putting in a C effort? Or are you putting in the time and still getting C's. If that is the case I would be looking at how and what you are studying. For me a large part of going back to school and doing the prereqs was learning how to study and what works for me. I would advise you to keep a log of your study habits (every week all semester). That will really help you assess if you're putting in the time. I don't want to sound too negative here but it's just guna get harder. Use this time to learn to study. Or when you get into a program where C's might not even be accepted (my program is 75%) you will be in trouble.

The sciences aren't like regular GE where you can do everything before the test. You will get buried.

Thanks for the feedback. I really need to re-evaluate everything. I really want to be a nurse but I know my grades have to be excellent. I have an appointment with a Nursing counselor this upcoming week to sort things out. I'm not giving up yet.
