Getting approval to it for NCLEX with a felony arrest

Published

Ok about 2 years ago under a different username I had inquired about advice/experiences from fellow peers about being an lpn and having taken pti in Louisiana. I was worried because I didnt know what to expect and never getting more than one response from this forum didnt help me at all. Well today about 20 mins ago I spoke with the LSBPNE (Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners) and I'm approved for my NCLEX. I'm a little behind my fellow graduates but I'm still ecstatic nontheless, so if nobody respond to anyone else in my situation please please know that there is hope and keep GOD first and everything will fall into place. I don't mind answering any questions if any arise!!

Hello !

Congrats on being approved! I know how worried you must have been, because i am too. I have a felony as well. This felony occurred in 2000 in NYC. I have to submit an essay and i have to say that i have been avoiding doing so because the fear of rejection. I am really behind my fellow graduates and dont have a clue what to expect.

any information or advice from you would be more than grateful!

god bless...

As long as you have turned in the neccessary documents (I had to bring certified court documents, a police report, and a letter from the PTI program stating that I had successfully completed everything) and the essay then that's really all you can do. Thank GOD I didn't have to go before the Board in person because here in Louisiana they meet only every 2-3 months. In your essay tell them how you've changed your life for the better and things of that sort, I sent in a handwritten letter. Just pray and stay positive!! Its 14 years old and if not anything major you may have a shot

Congrats to you!! Im worried that I want be able to get accepted into school or get a nursing lisence or find a job after I complete nursing school bc I too went though pti in the state of louisiana for theft

I think PTI records are sealed (I'd see if you can just find a law forum and double check that, but I'm 90% sure) so don't worry drea, I'd guess you'd be fine (but I'd confirm before spending the money).

Congrats!!

Good luck on the NCLEX

Thanks everyone I took and passed the NCLEX I'm officially an LPN (until I go back to school next year) and I'm not on probation and I don't have any restrictions on my license!!
