Try for more rural hospital jobs. Often times they are quicker to give you a chance than oversaturated hospital locations. Also try looking for hospital job listings that are hosting a career fair. Of course knowing some one in a hospital helps but if that does not apply to you just be consistent with your job search because all you need is one yes.

I was an LVN for 2.5 years and has been an RN for almost 3 years -( prior to LVN I was a medical assistant for 12+years- I worked by way up with 3 kids) all of my experience is in skilled nursing and home health. I have been trying since graduated RN in 2018 to get a job in a hospital, in ca- Bay area and have been unsuccessful. I do not have BSN yet. every time I apply to hospital jobs I get rejected with automatic replies stating that they are looking for candidates with " more experience or we found better matches"....how do I get the experience of hospital work and/or a chance to work in a hospital if I can't get into hospital??
I have revised her resume several times. I have asked friends they say it looks good. I I am not thinking of having it professionally done to see if that helps. but I am lacking "hospital experience" other then my school clinical. I have applied to new grad as I feel I still am since no hospital experience and I am told that I am not a "new nurse" because I have had " paid RN jobs? I am very discouraged and frustrated and do not know what else to do...do you have any suggestions ?
