German Nurse in Toronto,help?

Published

hi,

actually i submitted my application to college of nurses and i also send the form which is directed to my college of nurses in Germany. They sent the form directly to college of nurses here in ontario. As I finished the college so we got a certificate and i am wondering if its similar to diploma or not?I have almost two years of work experience in Germany, mostly in ICU,emergency room and i have also a great reference letter from my work place but its in German.Should i sent this reference letter to college of nurses or no?Do the college translate this letter in english or i should send it translated?please let me know.thanks

hi

i know about that but in my country the program is only three years for registered nurses.we have to absolve more than 2300 theory hours and 2400 practical hours in these three years and plus that i have almost two years of work experience in ICU and Emergency room.I dont know what else they could be asking for but in my eyes i am well-experienced.I have reference letter from my work place and i passed my exam with good numbers.lets see what happens!i hope for the best.

I see you are applying for the registered nurse category, I don't know if you are aware but CNO will be assessing your education to see if it is equivalent to a 4 year baccalaureate nursing program. If your education is not equivalent, they may suggest either academic upgrading or applying to the registered practical nurse catagory.

Regarding whether or not you should do the English fluency test, you can do it when you are ready, just keep in mind the results are good for two years.

hey hi,

i dont think so because they have only in ottawa and manitoba.do you know one in toronto?

No, I don't know of one in Toronto, do you prefer to do the Celban over the other approved tests? I think the others have testing centres in Toronto.

Your hours of practical and theory are impressive. I wish you luck in your application with CNO.

Some aspects of Canadian nursing education that may be different from your education:

Canadian nursing education includes theory and practicum for all age groups, maternal and newborn, pediatrics, mental health and community health

Theory in social political trends that affect health care, ethical and legal issues in nursing, health promotion and illness prevention

hi

i really dont know which one would be the best but CNO just wants us to have an average outcome.

hi

i am just bit worried about all this but God is great and hopefully there will be a way to do the board exam as soon as possible.
