Georgia State University (GSU) Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone!

The deadline for the ACE application for Spring 2018 at Georgia State University was yesterday and so now the wait begins! Who else applied?

My stats are:

Undergrad GPA: 3.7

Pre-requisite and Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS score: 91.3

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll all be meeting in January!

Hey y'll. I got accepted for the traditional program. Congratulations to everyone that got in!!!!!

Hey everyone - I just noticed that in iCollege, you can now see something called PINS Review that has a whole bunch of information regarding the program. PINS Review is listed like one of your classes... It probably has some of the information that will be coming in our acceptance packets like immunizations, CPR and health insurance. FYI

According to the Spring 2018 flier in the iCollege PINS Review, all of our requirements are due on December 11th. The flier says this includes: immunizations, health documentations, receipt, and CPR certification.... I'm not sure how we're supposed to get everything together when we haven't even received our acceptance packets yet, and when it's due right on the tail end of FINALS, but I guess the whirlwind starts now!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing lol. Finished the pins review this morning though!

bclark40 - that's awesome!!! Do you already have current CPR certification?

No, I don't have a current one. I'll have to find somewhere to take the class soon.

@bclark40 - if you find a place that is pretty affordable, will you let us know? I know GSU Nursing website has some qualifications that have to be met...

CPR Classes

Hey @heatherhend, I just clicked on the link in the first bullet within the link you just posted. After following the prompt for CPR courses, I found one for the American Heart Association. They have a BLS (Basic life support) class which includes CPR and AED for $75 and a more advanced course that includes first aid for $100. This place is located close to where I live so I'll probably go with them and do the BLS.

I see some of them offer discounts for groups of 8 or more. Anyone interested in getting together a group?

I just signed up with GA CPR - they have BLS certification with AHA credentials, you get your card the day of the class, they have Saturday classes if you need them, and it was only $55.

Anyone else hearing back from them about acceptance?

@jsp994 I've still not heard anything. No email, no letter, no nothing. Application status still says "Ready for review." Nobody in any of my classes has heard anything since the first round last week either. I've called numerous times to find out if all decisions have been sent out and am told the same thing every time: "Decisions are forthcoming." Really annoying. What are your stats if you don't mind my asking?
