Hello! I didn't see a post for the Fall 2024 ASN cohort yet so wanted to make one to find some fellow applicants and potential future classmates! I am an older applicant (33, not "old," but you know... non-traditional student just finishing up pre-req's of AP2 and Micro this semester). I took my TEAS in December and applied the next day, LOL. I recently got the email that I meet the minimum requirements. April 30 feels so far away (but I've seen that some people get their acceptances in March or early April) so let's all wait impatiently together!
FuturernAk said:@LIUDEL no you have to complete the necessary prereq before consideration. What happens if you fail a prereq they don't know if you will pass or fail so that's why it has to be completed before consideration.
Well.. that is not true. I already checked about this with Admission Counselor for Nursing dept of Perimeter.
I can still apply for Fall 2025 but I will be taking pending prereqs until Spring 2025 after submitting the application.

Applying and getting into the program is a whole other story.
I just wanted to know if there is anyone who has been accepted under similar situation , with some pending subjects. (Pending subjects must be done before starting the program)
Thank you for reply.

I've already attended a semester. It's hard for me to answer because my first semester started in the Spring, so whoever had prereq's left to complete, they took them in the Summer. Whatever questions you and anyone else here have can be answered at orientation.

I will be at the orientation next week. I think to each their own. Everyone's situation will be different on acceptance. Congrats to all those who will be starting with me for Fall 24.
Congrats on your acceptance. The countdown until fall 24 starts has official begun. See you at orientation

so Were you pending AP2 and Microbiology when you were applying?
Could you share me your stats? like TEAS?
I will have 3 subjects pending (History/POLS/ENGL1102) when I am applying. So I am worried. LOL
I was pending AP2 and Micro. I took History, Human Development, and AP1 in Fall, got A's, and applied for Fall in December after grades were in and I had taken my TEAS (they mostly look at reading and math, of which I got 89 and 100 respectively). I got a 90 overall on the TEAS. I then took AP2 and Micro in Spring semester and I was accepted into the nursing program in April right before finals for AP2 and Micro (which I also ended up with A's in, and finding out I got into the program certainly boosted morale during finals!). My GPA was bare minimum before all of these classes so I worked really hard to make sure I had A's. As long as you will be done with all prerequisites before the semester you will start the nursing program, and assuming all other minimums are met like GPA and TEAS, you should be good to go.

Thank you so much for sharing!!:D
Just for clarification in case anyone else has this question. You DO NOT have to have ALL of your prereqs done before you start the program. I would recommend that you're done with them before you begin though. Being able to focus on and spend your time on the nursing classes is key. We also suspect that you have a better chance of being accepted with all of your prereqs completed/pending before the program starts. With that being said:
You have to have A&P 1 w/lab done before you apply to the nursing program.
English 1, Math, & both Psych classes need to be done before you start the first semester of nursing.
A&P 2 w/lab needs to be complete before 2nd semester
Microbiology w/lab and English 2 need to be completed before you begin 3rd semester.
All gen. eds (shouldn't be any more) have to be complete before the start of the last semester.

Yes, I know that I have to complete all prerequisites before starting the program.
But is there a chance of getting accepted if I apply before completing 2-3 courses?
