Georgia State University ACE Fall 2019

Published

Is anyone already planning out their application to the accelerated program for Fall 2019 entry? FYI, there is a new deadline of February 15! I am so excited/nervous. Anyone else?

Just sent in my application and I’m so nervous! TEAS: 89.3%, science GPA: 4.23, overall GPA: 4.19

Yay! I submitted mine last week too. I have 92% TEAS 3.75 science GPA and 3.6 Program. I have 5+ years experience working in healthcare so I hope that helps me out. I am trying to not let myself get nervous! It's going to be a long 3ish months. Let's stay in touch if we hear anything!

Yes! Staying in touch sounds good to me! I'm sure your healthcare experience will make you stand out among other applicants. Also, your TEAs score is VERY good! I don't know very many other people who are applying for Fall 2019, I know a lot of people who got scared away by the Feb 15 deadline and decided to apply for Spring of next year...
Also, can I ask you a question? Are recommendations required to be one professional and one academic or can they both be academic?

Oh really? I have been surprised by the lack of responses on this thread, but I keep forgetting that the deadline hasn't even passed yet. I only found out about the earlier deadline by visiting my adviser but the website did not get updated until much later, so I can understand how that would throw a lot of people off. I don't know anyone else applying to the accelerated program.

That's a good question about the recommendation letters! I just checked the website and it does not seem to specify. I am pretty sure I read before that it's strongly preferred to have at least one academic reference, but the professional one is not required as long as there are two LOR in total. You could always call the school of nursing to double check.

Ok, that’s what I thought too. Thank you! I had two academic recs so I was a little paranoid, haha. Hopefully more people post on this thread so we can all wait anxiously together

They pushed the deadline back to March 1...

What?! Are you serious? Where did you hear? They must seriously be lacking applicants. Wow all that stress to get it submitted early when I could've taken my time...

I know right. It’s a little upsetting for all the people who made the effort to submit their application before the deadline. Oh well! My advisor emailed me about it.

I mean part of me was hoping people would get scared away by the earlier deadline, but ...not so scared that NOT ENOUGH people apply!!

I know it’s only been 3 weeks since the application was due, but I’m getting so antsy. I hope it really only takes as early as 6 weeks to hear from them because idk how much longer I can wait:(
