Hi Guys!
Anyone planning to apply to the ADN program for Fall 2020? If so, does anybody want to share their stats?

Last year I was denied for the Fall 2019 Co-hort in April by some miracle seats opened up and I was granted a spot on June 1st, 2019 through second round of letters , I also was finishing up Microbiology, and had all pre-reqs needed to graduate the program done ✅
It’s a challenge but don’t lose hope ♥️ I’ll advise all accepted to start learning the Nursing process, Maslow, ABC In order to answer nursing questions, it takes practice and a lot of studying but it wall fall into your favor . I had a hard time in fundamentals, earned my first C in nursing school but as long as you get over a 74 and make it to your next course that’s the most blessed feeling ever, finishing Medsurge with an B, and I’m grateful for that ♥️ Good luck to you all ! Your stats are crazy amazing , I’m a little surprised they denied some of you ! Don’t give up !
Thank you for your

How is your experience with nursing school so far? Is it very heavy and difficult that you have to solely focus on studying or you sill have sometime to enjoy yourself with family and friends?

You’re welcome , and my experience so far has both it’s pros and cons. I truly struggled my first semester and had no time to balance life and school so it was strictly studying, skills, clinical . Nursing school is a lot of work, the first semester was challenging balancing two nursing courses and I had took human development with it which was a bad idea , but I passed ?? , I have such an amazing team of classmates and we are all so helpful and encouraging to each other ❤️ I have more room for life this semester since it’s only one nursing course , but it is not easy and require a lot of studying .
Many will tell you their anxiety had not come down since the start of nursing school, everyday is a new challenge, but it’s possible to pass and make it out if you put in the work ❤️

Thank you for your response! And congratulations on this journey. You have come so close to your future career. It will be truly rewarding for you at the end. So, how many credits in average you have enrolled in each semester? One BSN that I applied has average of 12-13 credits per semester. I'm not sure if it would be doable for mom with one toddler like me.

It’s doable, many nursing students are married with children and or have toddlers and they are making it wonderfully .
First semester-11 credits
Second Semester-9 credits
Third Semester-6 credits/ it changed it use to be 7
Fourth Semester-9 credits
Thats how this program is mapped out , Thank you again , and I’m wishing you well on your journey and hope you land a seat in opening slots or get accepted to the other programs you’ve applied too , CONGRATS in advance ♥️

I can’t speak from experience with the nursing program, however my wife is a nurse and her days are either 7a-7p or vice versa. I would imagine they want us to start when shifts start so we get the full experience.
@Jordan Ebbinger clinicals are only 8 hrs in funds, we had 7-3p, once per week when your start time begins.
2nd semester, yes 7a-7p for some , I had a 10hr clinical since all slots were taken that I wanted so I had to wake up 4AM to be at clinical at 6AM-4PM , the time varies but in fundamentals everyone’s time is the same.
You will have a 2 day 12 hr shift for PSYC and that’s all for that course

@Jennychi24 that's an early wake! OK, so I'll need to figure out childcare for one day on the clinicals ? but not too bad since only one day - wish schools had early care LOL! I definitely won't be waking 4am, and two 12 hours days ? but sure it'll go by fast. I'm sure I'll train myself to be an early bird soon - as of now I'm going to bed at 4a, sometimes 6a...
Also interesting to know you get to pick your own clinical slots come 2nd semester

For Psych I met it’s only a 12-hr shift for Saturday and Sunday , one time at a mental health hospital and that’s it , you won’t have to do it again .
But your main clinicals, which ever day you are assigned will be 1 time a week for 8hr till end date ,7a-3p , some instructors want you at the lobby by 6:30 or 6:45, so plan ahead ! You got this , I wish someone had let me know how the timing is because I had a very hard time balancing since I’m a late bird and night owl as well ??
The reason why I had to wake at 4AM because my clinical site was a good 50 minutes from home ? since like I stated before all slots were taken haha ? but it was still an amazing experience and glad it worked out the way it did for me because I’m done with clinicals.
@Jennychi24@@ you mentioned that as long as you make a mid-C (74) that you pass, what happens to those that make below? Do they have to repeat the class before starting the scheduled next semester classes or take again along with the additional classes (basically are they still in the same cohort)? Or totally out of the program?
