Hi Guys!
Anyone planning to apply to the ADN program for Fall 2020? If so, does anybody want to share their stats?
I know several of you applied for multiple schools... Was it hectic, the process? So all I can think of is applying for the school 1st, paying app fees, transcripts to all, then nursing program one submitted... Am I missing something? Transcripts is a lot of gathering/collecting for me ?
I think the only school you can apply to just the nursing program is Mercer. It is a bit tedious but then you won’t have to put all your eggs in one basket because it’s a numbers game. I would just start an application at schools and not pay the fee just yet. Wait and many have months were they will waive the fee. Sometimes your school will give you the first 5 transcript for free. Bernau waives the fee if you get Pell grants etc. I applied to 4 schools and one accepted me, which wasn’t the school I currently attend.

CONGRATS on the perfect score on A and P! That is awesome!
Can you share how HESI was like? was it very difficult compared to TEAS?
Anyway congratulations on the acceptance to those who got in the first round at Perimeter College. I was waitlisted .Hopefully, there will be more spaces open up for the second round. Good luck everyone.
Buy the TEAS practice book and test. Take the first TEAS practice test to see what you need to focus on. Take all the book test, and TIME YOURSELF. Then when your score improves take the LAST TEAS practice test in the quite part of the library. TIME YOURSELF PER SUBJECT.
I recommend this because you mimic the real test and I have a lot of anxiety and this helped me.
TEAS times 209 minutes. Reading is 53 minutes. If you finish early you don’t accumulate the minutes you did not use and move to the next subject. Sometimes the way they asked the question tricky, to me.
HESI 315 minutes and Reading is 60 minutes. I finished the reading portion 30 minutes early. All unused time accumulates and you can use it as you see fit, which I used for math.
PROs: HESI allows you to pick whatever subject you want. TEAS picks for you. I would start with your strongest subjects.
Cons: TEAS allows you to go back and review questions. HESI doesn’t allow you to revisit any topics.
TEAS asks very general questions about A&P. HESI asks you specific questions. HESI has a lot of cross multiply/ratio math. Sleep is important so if you have anxiety take 1 Benadryl the night before and go to sleep early.
2nd semester student here, going into my third semester in the Fall , just want to give you all who were denied some encouragement. Last year I was denied for the Fall 2019 Co-hort in April by some miracle seats opened up and I was granted a spot on June 1st, 2019 through second round of letters , I also was finishing up Microbiology, and had all pre-reqs needed to graduate the program done ✅
It’s a challenge but don’t lose hope ♥️ I’ll advise all accepted to start learning the Nursing process, Maslow, ABC In order to answer nursing questions, it takes practice and a lot of studying but it wall fall into your favor . I had a hard time in fundamentals, earned my first C in nursing school but as long as you get over a 74 and make it to your next course that’s the most blessed feeling ever, finishing Medsurge with an B, and I’m grateful for that ♥️ Good luck to you all ! Your stats are crazy amazing , I’m a little surprised they denied some of you ! Don’t give up !
Great words of encouragement @Jennychi24 I got denied at first and now trying to encourage my friend to stay positive as she goes a 85 on TEAS but she's in APII and Micro now. ? Thanks for the tips!

@Kelz You are so welcome anytime, remember you all who are denied are still be considered by the end of this semester if your grades are good and you meet the needed pre-reqs, and someone gives up their seat, you are guaranteed a spot for the second round of acceptance letters , which is what happened to me . Denied on April 5th, my acceptance letter was marked May 29th, received my packet on June 1st .
I believe with the stats you have , you will get in second rounds , no doubt and your friend , I wish I scored that high on my TEAS, I had a 70.5% that’s what got me denied ?? but my Nursing GPA was an 3.88, and GSU GPA was a 3.74 , and I completed all my pre-reqs at the end of the Spring 2019 term, so I guess that’s what saved me also and landed me a spot in round 2 .

Awesome ♥️ So happy for you , I’m sure more opened up , I and 2 others in my co-hort that I know of got in through second rounds . We started with 80, by orientation we had 72, by midterms we dropped to 63, by the end of the semester 57 of us is what’s left and remaining still ! It was a lot of work ! ♥️ You got this, I’d advise to always stay ahead in nursing school
Thank you @Jennychi24 Oh WOW! on the numbers constantly changing. Is this a book : Nursing process, Maslow, ABC or just Google it?

No, it’s the basics of nursing, you need to know this in order to perform well in nursing school , specially exams , it took me a while to grasp this but I’d advise you to read the Davis book -Nursing Fundamentals for beginner nursing students that was advised for you to look into in your nursing packet, also check out PICMONICS, it’s really been so helpful for me in nursing school ♥️
