Hi, anyone here applied to Georgia state perimeter college (former gpc) for the spring 2017 semester?
Yes, I have a question.
When will we receive our acceptance letters and what do they look like?
We have been waiting since May. Also, if a person received the first letter stating that they have met the requirements, are they guaranteed a spot into the nursing program?
Thank you for any help.
I had been following for a while. .. im so hopeful but not that optimistic at the same time. .. no letter yet! Fingers crossed for tomorrow. I tried to research to see what type of scores were accepted for fall. .. its a bit sporadic though. Hopefully my scores can cut it
Science gpa: 2.8-3.0 *need to recalculate for accuracy *
Overall:3.4 (I think my program gpa is same)
TEAS: 84
I'm gonna recheck and repost! Good luck to everyone who applied. .. I wish there were enough slots for all applicants on the thread!
You will start clinical during the first semester. I believe the students who started in August just started having clinical this week. Definitely buy an NCLEX-RN review book! I recommend the Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination. I heard that a new edition is coming out around October 10th. It basically gives you the important info that you need to know and also has practice questions...DO A LOT OF PRACTICE QUESTIONS! I've been reading the chapters they assign, but that can get really time consuming. There are a lot of YouTube videos out there that explain things pretty well, definitely a good source for med-surg info.
Expect the unexpected....seriously lol you know how you guys are waiting for your acceptance letters and it's taking forever and you're nervous and anxious and about to go crazy? Prepare to feel like that throughout the program.
My tip to you guys is to figure out how to study your first semester! The first semester is like a walk in the park compared to what comes next. Time management is key. Also, get to know your classmates. You're all going to be going through this together and no one else in your life is going to understand this madness besides them. Once you all get accepted, be sure to ask us second year students for more tips! We have a HUGE class (there's about 140 of us) and we're all willing to help you guys out! Good luck!
