Starting a new thread for any Georgia Highland applicants for the Fall 2013 nursing program. It's been a long road getting to this point - waiting to find out if IN for Fall 2013
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Unfortunately I believe it's time to start looking for a new career. I called about my score & it turns out it actually is THAT low. Hope weaver either misread or I misunderstood what she said when I asked if a class didnt transfer over to Highlands did it count and she said that it didnt. But as I learned today it does. I made an F the first time I took anp1 due to missing the final for a family emergency.. So that's what brings my score down so low. To even get my score to a 1041 I would have to take anp1 for a THIRD time & take the TEAS again and make 80's and I'd have to wait for next fall to apply. So i fell like I've wasted 4 yrs of my time (started in 2009 straight outta high school) & I've taken pre req there is to take for a bachelors. It's definitely frustrating especially when I have a daughter to take care of and I aced anp2 & micro. Congrats to everyone that got in I'm sure you will all be wonderful nurses!
You are still young! I am 40 and starting a second career with an 8 and 3 year old. You can do this! I'd give anything to be starting this at your age! Don't give up if it is your passion. :)
study, and carpool;)
It is never too late to pursue your dream! I know it is not easy to get the news of waitlisted or regret to inform, I have received those before and still believe that when the time is right, it will all come together! Don't be discouraged and keep your head up! A lot of us have been in your shoes and I am sure it took a lot to let everyone know the outcome of your letter! You will do great things and the best is yet to come! I remind myself of that all the time!! Think positive!
If I'm remembering correctly, it seems like Ms Frazier said to count on 4 days a week - all dependent on what class schedule each of us ends up with. Hope someone else is more clear on this than I am..
Does anyone know what the schedule is? How much time will be spent on clinicals vs classroom?
amorganfreeman....Don't give in so easily. If you aced A&P2 you can take A&P1 again and do well. The TEAS doesn't count that much towards your score either, and you can take that a couple times a year I believe. You're still so young too. You've gone through the hardest part already. I know it's frustrating, I feel your pain. Think about it before you really do give in.
I called to schedule my apt time for registration and found out that 1st semester would be Tues 9-12, Wed 9-4, Thurs 9-12 and then a lab would either be an additional assigned day or added to one of the short days. Everyone goes to Rome other than the bridge program people going to the Marietta campus and most likely already employed by Wellstar. If anyone finds out anything different, let me know!
